About minus20 minus20 presents nine new web-based artworks selected from open submission entries by critic Sacha Craddock, Jon Thomson (of artist duo Thomson & Craighead www.thomson-craighead.net) and John Wyver, Chairman of Illuminations www.illumin.co.uk The aim of minus20 was to focus upon works of powerful immediacy with a fast download time - hence all the artworks had to be less than 20k in file size. This challenge seems to have captured artist's imagination with submissions being sent in from around the world and from a wide a range of entrants - both artists who usually work with technology and those making a digital work for the first time. Engagingly concise, the artworks were selected less for their technological innovation and more for their merits as artworks.
